Planting Time in the Gulf Region
For an early start to the season, seeds can be started indoors or in a cool, well-lit location during August. They can also be direct sown outdoors from September through November.
Germination
Seeds do not require light for germination. Sow them 1–2 cm (½–¾ in.) deep in the growing medium.
Growing Instructions
Sow seeds directly in light, well-drained soil at a depth of 1–2 cm (½–¾ in.), keeping the soil evenly moist until germination. Seeds typically germinate within 7–10 days at 20–25°C (68–77°F). If started indoors, transplant seedlings carefully after they develop several true leaves, spacing plants 30–40 cm (12–16 in.) apart. Grow in full sun and water regularly for strong plants and large, vibrant blooms.
