Butter Globe Radish is an heirloom, open-pollinated variety known for its uniform, globe-shaped roots with bright red skin and crisp white flesh. It has a crunchy, juicy texture and a mild, well-balanced flavor with a slight hint of sweetness, making it ideal for fresh consumption in salads, sandwiches, vegetable dishes, and as a garnish.
This variety grows quickly and is ready for harvest within 25–30 days from sowing. The plants produce uniform roots with a diameter of approximately 3–5 cm, along with strong leafy growth that can also be used fresh. It is known for producing a reliable and consistent harvest while maintaining excellent crispness and quality when harvested at the right time.
Butter Globe is well suited for cultivation in the Gulf countries during the agricultural season from October to March. Successional sowing every 2–3 weeks can be carried out to ensure a continuous harvest throughout the season. It performs best in light, well-drained soil with regular irrigation and prefers a location with direct sunlight.
