Planting Time in the Gulf Region
For best results, direct sow seeds from September through November, as borage develops a taproot and performs best when planted directly in its permanent location.
Germination
Seeds do not require light for germination. Cover them lightly with soil after sowing.
Growing Instructions
Direct sow seeds 1–1.5 cm (½ in.) deep in light, well-drained soil. Keep the soil evenly moist until germination, which typically occurs within 5–10 days at 18–22°C (64–72°F). After emergence, thin or space plants 30–45 cm (12–18 in.) apart to allow for healthy growth and abundant foliage and flowers. Grow in a sunny location with regular watering for the best performance.
