Little Finger Purple is an early-maturing eggplant variety known for its slender, finger-shaped fruits with glossy deep purple skin. Its compact growth, high productivity, and attractive fruits make it an excellent choice for home gardens, raised beds, and container growing.
The fruits are long and slender, measuring approximately 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) in length. They have thin, tender skin and creamy white flesh with very few seeds, offering a mild, sweet flavor with virtually no bitterness. They are ideal for grilling, roasting, frying, stir-frying, and can be harvested young for the finest texture and flavor.
Plants are compact yet vigorous, typically reaching 60–90 cm (24–36 inches) in height. They begin producing fruit approximately 55–65 days after transplanting and continue to yield abundantly throughout the season. Regular harvesting encourages continuous flowering and increased fruit production.
In the Gulf countries, seeds are best started indoors during August and September, with seedlings transplanted outdoors in September and October. A second planting season is also suitable during January and February for a spring harvest before the onset of high summer temperatures.
This variety performs best in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil with regular watering and balanced fertilization. It is an excellent choice for home gardens, raised beds, and large containers, combining early maturity, heavy yields, premium fruit quality, and outstanding flavor.
