This vigorous, branching variety grows 180–240 cm (6–8 ft) tall and produces numerous blooms measuring approximately 10–15 cm (4–6 in) across. Its soft lemon-yellow petals create a bright yet refined display in the garden. Flowering begins about 80–100 days after sowing, depending on growing conditions. Unlike single-stem sunflower varieties, Lemon Queen continues producing flowers over an extended period thanks to its branching habit. It requires full sun with at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. No artificial lighting is required for seed germination, and it is an easy, vigorous-growing variety.
Growing Guide for the Gulf Region:
For best results, sow seeds directly in their permanent location from mid-September through the end of February. Seeds can also be started indoors in early September and transplanted outdoors once weather conditions become suitable.
Sow seeds 2–3 cm (¾–1¼ in) deep, spacing plants 45–60 cm (18–24 in) apart. Seeds typically germinate within 7–14 days at temperatures between 20–25°C (68–77°F). Grow in well-drained, fertile soil and water regularly, allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings. Apply a balanced fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during active growth to encourage vigorous plants and abundant flowering.
