Queen Sophia Marigold is an heirloom, open-pollinated French marigold variety and an All-America Selections (AAS) Award Winner, recognized for its vigorous growth, prolific blooming, and vibrant flowers that retain their beauty throughout the season.
The plants produce semi-double to double blooms with rich bronze-red petals accented by bright golden edges, creating a striking and elegant display. Growing to a compact height of approximately 25–30 cm (10–12 inches), Queen Sophia is ideal for flower beds, borders, containers, and home gardens, providing continuous color and outstanding ornamental value.
This variety is well suited to the Gulf region. For the best results, seeds should be started indoors in August in preparation for the growing season, then transplanted outdoors as temperatures become milder. Queen Sophia seeds require light for germination, so they should be sown on the surface of the growing medium or covered with only a very thin layer of soil while keeping the medium consistently moist until germination. Plant in a sunny location to encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering.
