This variety produces strong, sturdy stems topped with large blooms measuring approximately 15–20 cm (6–8 in) across. Plants typically reach a height of 150–200 cm (5–6.5 ft), making them ideal for the back of flower borders or as a striking seasonal garden feature. It blooms in about 70–90 days from sowing, depending on growing conditions. The flowers have excellent vase life, making them ideal for fresh floral arrangements. It requires full sun with at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. No artificial lighting is required for seed germination, and it is considered an easy and fast-growing variety.
Growing Guide for the Gulf Region:
For best results, sow seeds directly in their permanent location from mid-September through the end of February, when temperatures are ideal for growth. Seeds can also be started indoors in early September and transplanted outdoors once the weather becomes suitable.
Sow seeds 2–3 cm (¾–1¼ in) deep, spacing plants 40–60 cm (16–24 in) apart. Seeds usually germinate within 7–14 days at temperatures between 20–25°C (68–77°F). Grow in well-drained, fertile soil and water regularly, allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings. Feed with a balanced fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during active growth to encourage vigorous plants and abundant blooms.
